Are you developing, directing or producing a documentary film with a strong social, cultural, environmental or human rights impact?
Would you like to strengthen its potential by connecting with changemakers, NGOs, foundations and activists to build synergies, create new alliances and work on your project’s impact campaign?
FOCAL, in cooperation with the Geneva International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights FIFDH, gives six Swiss documentary film projects the opportunity to participate in FIFDH’s Impact Lab (9-10/03/2020) and Impact Day (10/03/2020).
The selected filmmakers will receive mentoring on their project’s impact strategy, coaching on pitching aimed at potential partners outside the documentary industry, and training by experienced impact producers. In one-to-one meetings with key players (NGOs and foundations) within their impact area, the filmmakers are pitching their project’s impact campaign and find partners and funders.
Applicants are Swiss independent documentary filmmakers or producers, on their own or in a team, working on a documentary film project of 60+ minutes in length that has the bold ambition and strong potential to create real cultural and social impact around some of the most pressing issues of our time.
Applications can be submitted for projects at any stage of production, with an already existing impact strategy or with a strategy yet to be developed.
Interested candidates must apply by 7 January 2020.
Submission is free, selected teams must pay an accreditation fee of CHF 60 for each member attending the event. Accreditation gives access to all the activities held during the Impact Day, including lunch and the closing cocktail, as well as to all screenings and debates during the Festival (6 to 15 March 2020).
