Pitch
An international training program focusing on the creative preproduction process of a feature film.

EKRAN is an international training program focusing on the creative pre-production process. It aims at advancing the participants' scripts from first draft to a shooting version, and preparing the projects for the screen. This includes writing and rewriting, defining the tone of the script, finding visualisation strategies, helping directors develop a personal approach and confidence in their ability to tell stories in images, experimenting with casting and rehearsing, as well as shooting key scenes in order to examine narrative and visual concepts and to review creative decisions.

Since the creative pre-production process is based on teamwork, EKRAN involves all the key functions in the training curriculum. Thus, every participating project is represented by a team consisting of a director (or writer/director), a writer (or co-writer), a producer and a director of photography.

Interested? Two Swiss teams can participate in EKRAN in 2004.

Information: for the detailed application call and an application form, kindly consult focal.ch/ekran.

Deadline: the deadline for applications is February 20, 2004.

Dates and venue: the programme starts on 7 April 2004 and ends on 24 November 2004 (40 days divided into 4 sessions). It takes place in Warsaw, Poland.

Fee: participation in the program is free of charge for the selected applicants.
