Joëlle Levie

Over the last 30 years, Joëlle Levie has developed a network of business relationships in the entertainment industry not only in Canada but also in Europe where she has built up strong long term ties in production, distribution, finance and institutional circles. In her various executive positions, she has been confronted every day with the difficulties and specificities of the audiovisual business and is quite familiar with the overall process of film and television production from development to distribution and sales. She works as an consultant for various cinematic organizations (ACE, EAVE, ScriptEast, Fémis, Esra,…).

Since 2011, she is co-owner and actively involved in the French company Online Film Financing — OLFFI, a consultancy company developing an online pay site (B to B) intended to serve professionals from the audiovisual industry by centralizing important and relevant information relating to the financing of audiovisual works. She is also President of the Selection Committee for the CCA, the audiovisual funding body of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (French-speaking Community of Belgium).

In 2008 — 2009 she was Project Manager at the Bank ING Belgium, responsible for the administration of the tax shelter mechanism (more than 60 projects financed).

From 2001 to 2007, she was Chief Operating Officer (COO) Film and Television at SODEC (Quebec funding body) after having occupied different management positions at Telefilm Canada (the last one being General Manager of the Quebec Office) from 1997 to 2001.
