Creative Producer Indaba is a producer and development programme offered by the Realness Institute, in partnership with EAVE and the Indian Ocean International Film Festival (FIFOI).
The aim of the programme is to bring together producers who want to build their knowledge together and are interested in African film industry. During the workshop, they will learn how to improve their entrepreneurial and leadership skills, develop their creative abilities, and build a lasting and meaningful network.
The schedule includes plenary sessions and group work, case studies and access to individual meetings with mentors and guest experts. The workshop covers career planning, project development, financing, legal issues, promotion and marketing, advocacy and lobbying, organisational development, network management and leadership. Another key aspect is the personal development within the film industry.
The programme is structured in three modules over six months, combining in-person with online sessions:
- Workshop 1 :
Online sessions take place between 18 November 2026 to 11 December 2026 and between 19 January 2027 to 2 February 2027. - Workshop 2 :
In-person sessions take place from 7 to 14 February 2027 in Johannesburg, South Africa. - Workshop 3 :
In-person sessions take place from 10 to 18 April 2027 in Réunion Island, during the Indian Ocean International Film Festival (FIFOI).
Due to FOCAL’s partnership, one Swiss producer can participate free of charge.
