For 2.5 days, the participating film funders discuss pressing issues and reassess the existing funding schemes and programmes. MEDICI offers the temporal and secure framework for in-depth discussions and free exchange.

Main Topics MEDICI Workshop 2022

Public funding – shaping the mandate
Global streaming providers are investing large sums in European production and rights ownership. Through presentations and debates, the workshop will explore the new players, audience needs and current exploitation chains. Participants will discuss their role as major public film financiers in this changing financing and distribution environment.

Talent development – rethinking roles
Is fostering talent and supporting development the next big task for public film funders? How can talent be promoted? How do film labs deal with diversity? The workshop will explore possible changes in the way talent is seen on the way to a more inclusive and thriving industry.
