During the comprehensive retrospective of Japanese manga and anime at the Locarno Film Festival, ANIMA PLUS invites the versatile and successful director and writer of several awarded short and feature films, Katsuhito Ishii. Ishii began directing commercials in 1992 and he soon changed to making feature and animated films. His collaborations in anime movies include KILL BILL Vol 1 (the animated sequence) and the RACING ANIME RED LINE, which will be screened on the Piazza Grande.
The event consists in an intensive 3-hour Masterclass where Ishii will show a lot of material and answer the questions of an other expert in the field as well as the participants' questions. After the conversation, the participants are invited to a lunch for professionals.
