EKRAN is a European training program focusing on the creative pre-production process, as based on shooting practice. Group and individual work will be supervised by highly professional filmmakers.

Session 1: The presentation of the EKRAN program will be followed by each participating project's pitch, treatment group analysis, treatment or script individual analysis. The crucial element of this session will be the intense development of the projects. The main areas of interest will be: scene dramaturgy, character development and the visualization of the tone of the film. Special emphasis will be put on working with actors and preparation for shooting. Scenes from the participants' projects with two or three actors will be produced, edited, screened and evaluated. A case study examining the relationship between biography and fiction will complete the session.

Session 2: The second session will be devoted to developing a more advanced version of the treatment or script delivered through the treatment group analysis and treatment or script individual analysis. Participants will concentrate on seeking visualization strategies in order to ensure a truly personal tone. They will develop images and camera movements through storyboard sessions. The pre-production of the scenes will include: directing strategies, choice of the location, props and light. Each team will have the opportunity to invite a director of photography and two actors from its native country to produce a scene from the script (in their native language). The scenes will be screened and evaluated. The session will also provide the market-oriented expertise to participants' projects.

Follow-up session (optional)
After 6 months it is crucial for the EKRAN participants to come back for the final treatment or script consultancy and setting up the directions for the advanced draft development. The summary of projects' development and deep insight into their final shape is given by two EKRAN tutors, who knowing all previous phases of project development can in the most effective way give to the participants final remarks and suggestions before entering the production phase.

Between the sessions, the participants are expected to work on their treatments and scripts.
