Climate change and sustainable development are the greatest global challenges of the 21st century. Sustainability is a rather new topic in all areas of life, including film production.
The interactive session in Locarno (10:00 am to 12:30 pm) offers a lively exchange of ideas on the topic of green filmmaking: How do I implement more sustainability in my work in the film industry?
Together with the Locarno Film Festival, the Ticino Film Commission, MEDIA Desk Suisse and Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen SRF, FOCAL offers a platform to decision-makers in the film industry to develop measures and exchange ideas.
The discussion of the experts will be conducted interactively by integrating the audiences’ opinions and elaborating ideas collaboratively. Christiane Dopp (Germany) and Alberto Battocchi (Italy) from their respective film funds will present their approach to incentives. Green film consultant Philip Gassmann (Germany) will explore how we can apply new ideas for a more sustainable film production in an easy and even cost-effective way. Furthermore, Bettina Kahlert (Switzerland) will present a case study that includes resource efficiency consulting and a catalogue of measures for film sets.
From 12:30 pm there will be a lunch on the fly to reflect on the inputs and keep discussing the new ideas in a relaxed setting
