A successful short film is often the springboard to a debut feature film or marks the emergence of a young talent on the market. But not only that: some directors continue to make short films throughout their career and keep using this format for their artistic expression.
Structured over three mornings, the workshop allows for an in-depth examination, with supporting case studies, of the different modalities of development, production and distribution of short films to help these films exist in their own right, attract an audience, or even achieve international success.
Part I - Development and production: two short film production experts (one fiction, one documentary) share their knowledge on financing and producing short films.
Part II - Direction, case studies: two filmmakers will share their experiences as authors producing short films (one fiction, one documentary).
Part III - Promotion and distribution: four promotion and distribution experts will make short presentations in their respective fields of expertise.
The participants will be invited to a closing networking aperitif at the Winterthur International Short Film Festival with representatives of Pro Short on Friday 6 November 2020.
