ScriptLab is a script development programme for fiction feature film projects at an early stage. It is open to both experienced and emerging writer/directors, as well as teams of a writer and a director. Original ideas and adaptations are eligible.
Spread over eight months, participants will develop their projects through peer-to-peer group work, supported by professional script consultants. The programme consists of three week-long residential modules and two online modules between April and November 2027.
Projects must be at an early stage of development. Projects with an existing screenplay draft are not eligible. Applicants working on an adaptation must have secured the rights. It is not necessary for a producer to be involved in the project.
The programme concludes with the TFL Meeting Event in Torino in November 2027.
Thanks to FOCAL’s partnership, one Swiss project selected for ScriptLab 2027 benefits from a 50% reduction of the participation fee for the first participant. If a team of two is selected, the participation fee for the second participant is 2'300 EUR (+ VAT, if due). This additional fee is not covered by the FOCAL scholarship.
