Filmmaking is a collaborative process
A workshop on conflict management and cultural intelligence

The purpose of the workshop

Film professionals regularly face difficult relationships, misunderstandings and conflicts, many of which are caused by unskilful communication, especially between different cultures. These circumstances are endured with surprising passivity considering the fact that they cost a great deal of energy and affect the quality of the films.

The film industry has little interest in management issues. It is likely that, because of their social and humanist grounding, film professionals perceive knowledge and instruments which are targeted at improving productivity as alienating creativity.

Working Together is based on the opposite hypothesis. This initiative aims at bridging the gap between audiovisual production and what business calls leadership, and academic circles call organisational behaviour.

This is an archive of the workshop 'Working Together' which took place between 2018 and 2020.
