Following the success of workshops led by filmmakers Béla Tarr, Michelangelo Frammartino and Radu Jude, the Locarno Film Festival is renewing its commitment to emerging talent with a ten-day workshop for young filmmakers led by Alice Diop, a major artist whose work blurs the boundaries between documentary and fiction, bringing together elements of both genres in the creation of her internationally acclaimed films. The workshop, entitled “Pas de deux”, will run from 16 to 24 March 2024 as part of the program L'immagine e la parola.

In anticipation of this workshop, the Locarno Film Festival and CISA, in collaboration with the Ticino Film Commission, are pleased to launch a call for applications from professional actors who are interested in participating in the workshop. The selected performers will collaborate with Alice Diop and the filmmakers picked for the workshop on short films to be produced in the upcoming edition of the Locarno Spring Academy.

The main language of the workshop will be French. A good knowledge of Italian, German and English is also appreciated.
