Tamara Tatishvili

Training manager, producer, strategy adviser and policymaker, Tamara Tatishvili has been working in the audiovisual sector since 2002.

In 2004, Tamara co-founded and served as executive director of the “Independent Filmmakers’ Association – South Caucasus” (IFA-SC). Through the educational and promotional activities of IFA-SC, she built an extensive regional and international network of film professionals.

In 2008 and 2009, Tamara was based in London and worked for BOP Consulting, overseeing research, strategy, planning and evaluation for culture, media, digital industries and innovation.

From 2010 to 2013, she was the director of the Georgian National Film Center (GNFC) where she co-authored the Georgian film policy, led the implementation of the different initiatives and promoted young talented filmmakers. During and after this position, she was acting as the Georgian representative to European Cinema Support Fund – EURIMAGES – as well as the Georgian representative in the European Film Promotion (EFP).

Since 2014 Tamara is involved in different international film activities, combining various professional roles. She works as mentor for the international training SOFA – School of Film Advancement and curates high-level conferences for CINEMA BACKSTAGE (Odessa International Film Festival). She consults festivals as a programmer (Bridges East of West Film Days at BOZAR) and networks as strategy manager for EWA (European Women’s Audiovisual Network).

Lawyer by training, Tamara holds a postgraduate diploma in Public Policy and Democracy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a MA in Producing Film and TV from Royal Holloway, University of London. She also made a year of training in film law and policy through the AVANTI programme (organised by FOCAL) and completed the programme ‘Comparative Media Law and Policy’ at the University of Oxford.

French authorities awarded her with the distinction of ‘Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres’.
