LIM Less is More is one of Europe’s leading development programmes. FOCAL is offering the chance for up to 8 Swiss screenwriters and filmmakers to take part in an intensive five-day screenwriting workshop in Switzerland. Two international tutors from LIM/Le Groupe Ouest will create a safe space and inspiring environment. They invite participants to explore their ideas and deepen them through theoretical and practical exercises.
The Workshop aims to help writers turn creative limitations into opportunities for innovation in script development. LIM enables writers to engage with emotion, structure and the power of the script's story at an early stage, before they enter the often lengthy development phase and even before they start writing. The more that can be explored and established before the writing process, the more effective the first draft will be.
The participants are also given tools and methods to release their creative energy, interact playfully with their intellectual material, and generate various story ideas. Participants will be supported in testing their story plots to see if they are worthy of being developed into a feature-length film.
The workshop emphasises exchange and feedback. It is not suitable for screenwriters who are working on a screenplay at an advanced stage.

Please note: LIM’s programme and methodology have been developed primarily for fiction projects. Authors from documentary films are welcome if they want to work on fiction projects.
