Producers and casting directors, agents and actors alike are excited to see that the European film market is becoming increasingly international. Tax incentives and new funding models have helped to relocate film shoots into Europe and open up further opportunities for actors on an international stage.
The Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg is offering selected young acting talent the chance to take part in its multi-week, English-language screen acting workshop. FOCAL will enable one Swiss actor or actress to join them. While it will include a sound theoretical basis, the course will have practical training at its heart. This will include speech, facial and physical expression and continuity of movement - in short, a focus on increasing your personal presence on camera.
Work in progress: interdisciplinary film shoots with students from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg will give the actors practical experience on a realistic film set.
International Screen Acting is aimed at emerging actors up to the age of 35, who are fully bilingual and would like to improve their craft and skills in English in order to succeed in a growing market. International teachers will give thorough information on specific questions and subjects such as networking and internationalisation, conditions and realities in other markets, and will actively support the young talent on their journey.
Speakers will be from the international film sector, including actors, agents, casting directors, coaches and directors
