This first Workshop, and the second one in October 2015 (Transmedia Production and Distribution) both fall under the auspices of 'Transmedia Projects'.

Nonetheless, both Workshops are open to professionals - with or without a transmedia project - who did not apply for or win the 'Call for Transmedia Projects' grant.

Goal of the first Workshop is to specify the core concept of the project, elaborate on the theme or world the project is set in, plan feasible formats for different media platforms by defining the respective focus, visuals, target group and market. The Workshop will offer an extensive introduction to the development of the creative and business skills required to develop and produce a transmedia experience able to span multiple platforms, uniting various media industries and engaging with today's audiences.

There will be opportunity to study transmedia projects that have been successfully launched as well as become familiar with the principles of development and production of various media formats such as graphic novels, games, TV shows, film, live events and other. The participants will discuss their projects with a range of experts from the different media industries during the Workshop and take with them specific advice (i.e. research) and tasks (i.e. planning and budgeting) for the further development after the Workshop.

The 'Call for Transmedia Projects' granted participants will attend this Workshop on a 3-day basis, from 27 April thru 29 April 2015. The application for the 'Transmedia Projects' production grant will take into consideration the development work done after the first Workshop.
