" I regularly work within the European ‹auteur› and the American ‹studio› traditions. In my view, both traditions have reached an impasse." Slawomir Idziak

Under the creative mentorship of the internationally acclaimed cinematographer Slawomir Idziak, Film Spring provides an opportunity to explore, in a collective process, new ways of filmmaking. The participants will cowrite the script in a specially created internet forum. The shooting of the 30 to 45-minute film will take place over 20 days in Poland. The rules of the game for the shoot are that every participant changes responsibility and position for every scene. The technical and artistic proceedings (set decoration, costumes, props, equipment) will be organised by the participants themselves. The promoter takes care of logistics, transportation, etc. The postproduction will also be carried out collectively before the film can be proposed for screenings.

Additional information at > www.filmspring.org: details about the edition 2008 will be published from 1 February 2008. Please also have a look at > www.filmspringopen.eu, the twin site developed as a virtual film studio.
